This is a favorite recipe for pumpkin bread that was from my Mom’s collection of recipes. It always turns out moist and yummy. Remember you can order all your spices from MySpiceSage.com.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil (my Mom always used corn oil)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of each: cloves, allspice, cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dates
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Directions
Beat the sugar, oil, and eggs together. Stir in the pumpkin and then the rest of the ingredients. Mix well and pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake 1 hour @ 350 degrees.
